The Best Fried Bananas

  • 3 ripened bananas
  • 1 cup corn flakes
  • 1/3 cup unsweetened coconut flakes
  • 1/3 cup flour
  • 1.5 teaspoons cinnamon
  • 2 eggs
  • Canola oil for frying
  • Toppings:
  • Honey
  • Warm Chocolate Sauce
  • Confectioners sugar


  1. Add enough oil to pan to cover half way up the banana slice
  2. Heat oil in skillet over medium high heat
  3. In plastic bag finely smash up the corn flakes
  4. Lay out 3 low bowls
  5. In first bowl add flour and cinnamon, mix with fork
  6. In second bowl add the two eggs and whisk
  7. In third bowl add corn flakes and coconut flakes
  8. Cut banana in half and again lengthwise in half making four pieces
  9. Dip the banana in the flour, then egg and finally into the cornflake mixture
  10. Place into oil adding only 3 pieces at a time to not over crowd
  11. Cook on each side for about 1-2 minutes or until golden brown, watching closely
  12. Remove from oil and transfer to a plate lined with paper towel
  13. Serve with honey, Warm Chocolate Sauce (See recipe above) and powder sugar
  14. Also taste great on top of vanilla ice cream!
