Ham and Pea Bow Tie Recipe


Ingredients

  • 8 ounce of bow tie pasta
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 12 garlic cloves minced or pressed
  • 1/4 cup all purpose flour
  • Salt/Pepper
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon dry mustard
  • 2 cups of grated unexpected cheddar cheese from Trader Joes or favorite white cheddar cheese
  • 8 slices of deli ham, diced into small pieces
  • 3/41 cup defrosted frozen peas
  • 1/3 cup parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350F
  2. Bring large stock pot with salted water to a boil and cook pasta until al dente
  3. In a large sauce pan over medium heat to melt butter
  4. Sauté the garlic for 30 seconds in melted butter
  5. Whisk in flour, salt and pepper and cook continuously stirring until smooth
  6. Pour in milk a little at a time stirring constantly and bring to a boil for one minute
  7. Stir in mustard and grated cheddar cheese and cook stirring constantly until cheese is melted
  8. Remove from heat and add in defrosted peas and diced deli ham
  9. Adjust seasonings if needed adding more salt and pepper if needed
  10. Mix the bow tie pasta into the cheese sauce
  11. Transfer to oven safe bake ware and top with grated parmesan cheese
  12. Bake for 20-24 minutes or until cheese is bubbling and hot
