Perfected Double Chocolate Muffins


  • 2 cups all purpose flour
  • 1 cup of white sugar, plus more for topping
  • 1 1/4 cups of white chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon of baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon of salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup of sour cream
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup canola oil


  1. Preheat oven to 400F
  2. Fill muffin tin with 18 paper liners
  3. In large bowl combine flour, white chocolate chips, cocoa powder, baking soda, cinnamon and salt
  4. In medium bowl whisk egg, vanilla, sour cream, milk, and canola oil
  5. Pour wet ingredients into dry and mix just until incorporated (do not over mix)
  6. Fill muffin liners 3/4 way and sprinkle the top with desired amount of sugar
  7. Bake for 18 minutes or until toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean
