The Tea
When purchasing tea for the party make sure to purchase a few different kinds. This will ensure all the different pallets attending will be pleased.
There are tons of kid friendly teas on the market. First, introduce the kids to a mild fruity tea. Traditional black tea may not be every kiddos cup of tea, but older children might love it. In the past my kiddos had a pallet for green tea with honey.
But let’s not forget those extra picky guest who will refuse the traditional pour of tea in their dainty cup. Choose to have a substitute for the tea handy with either juice, ice tea or punch.
Finger Sandwiches
Finger sandwiches AKA tea sandwiches are the perfect pairing for your tea party. Here are a few kid friendly versions…
- Ham and cheese
- Turkey and cheese
- Salami and cheese
- Mini Cucumber Sandwiches
- For the advanced pallet- Smoked salmon with cream cheese and dill (IMPORTANT: Make sure no attendees have any fish allergies)
Make your mini sandwiches extra special by using a cookie cutter. We always shape ours into heart shaped ham and cheese sandwiches.

Let the kiddos be a part of the entire process. Have them help create the grocery list and invite them to go shopping. Next have them help with assembling the sandwiches and arranging the table. Trust me when I say this is a little extra work, but oh so worth the memories!
