Project Mindful Mama 2018

Project Mindful Mama

Project Mindful Mama 2018 Official Fundraising February 19th-28th

Have you ever wanted to help someone, but maybe you just didn’t know how to? This desire to help others matters, because even if you do not have all the answers right now, maybe one day an idea will come to you that will change everything. Project Mindful Mama is providing support to an area, where for myself, I saw a huge lack of support.

By providing care packages to the parents of children admitted to the Pediatric Intensive care units we are sending basic necessities along with a very important message, “You are not alone”. These parents may be going through some of the worst moments in their life. The parents are watching their children suffer, sometimes with unknown conditions. I believe showing kindness and love during these trying times can make a huge impact on the heart. I believe this because I’ve been there…

This is the third annual Project Mindful Mama fundraiser and I’m humbled that each year previous we have met our intended goals. This year the goal is to deliver another full 100 care packages. The bags themselves we have added a few new items to this year. For example a charging trio set so that the parents are not with out a charger. Another new item this year are the fidget spinners which can be fun for all ages.

Each and every item we place inside the care packages has three main goals or rules helping to make each bag as “Mindful” as possible…

  1. Keep things gender neutral
  2. Unscented and allergy friendly
  3. Do not pack unnecessary items

These three rules/goals are important to be mindful of because every bag packed will end up with families of any age and gender. The rule of no unnecessary items stems from the fact that during a crisis situation no parent needs their arms filled with anything unneeded. The bag itself is a gift intended to help the parents transport items back and forth from the hospital to home.

This year Project Mindful Mama is delivering to three local Hospitals

The goal is to deliver 100 care packages for the families in the Pediatric Intensive Care units at Central Dupage Hospital in Winfield, Illinois, Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago and St Alexis Medical Center of Hoffman Estates, Illinois. Please help support Project Mindful Mama in any way possible.
